Edward Guest, 79, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at his residence following a period of declining health. He was born in Stockton, Georgia on March 1, 1941 to the late Lee L. and Margaret Jefferson Guest. Mr. Guest served with the Army Reserves and National Guard for 6 years and for the last 51 years had been the owner/operator of Guest Dirt Hauling Company. He loved fishing and having fish frys with his family and spending time with them. He was a member of Stockton Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elaine Guest ; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ric and Kristi Guest, and Cory Guest; two grandchildren, Katie Guest and Logan Guest all of Valdosta; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bet and Terry Griffis of Naylor, Georgia and Doris (Dot) Fender of Brunswick, Georgia; a sister-in-law, Jean Guest of Valdosta; several niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Truman Guest. The family would like to thank all the nurses and caregivers from Hospice of South Georgia for all the care and attention given to Mr. Guest.
Services for Edward Guest were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at his residence, 2550 Copeland Road, Valdosta Georgia with Charles Barden officiating. The burial followed in the Stockton Baptist Church Cemetery in Stockton, Georgia.
